Fall 2012 Accents

Blue Road's knitted fall scarves and shawls are going fringeless for 2012.

My fall colors are not the traditional reds and oranges we expect to see when the leaves turn from green. I went with an array of blues with yellow, green, and pink accents.

Snowflake diamond design scarves were my goal this year. I shied away from the chunky heavy look of fall, and instead went with something that can offer warmth, and be light and fashionable so I don't have to feel like an oversized stuff animal every time I brave the cold.
Then I threw in a black scarfy shawl thing with black fringe for a classier work look, and then a classic fringe shawl with plaid. Because you can never go wrong with plaid.

Sold exclusively in stores at Ume on historic 25th street in Ogden, Utah.

Happy Holidays :)

Goddess in the Kitchen Aprons

I've been using a nasty jean apron thus far and am ready to sport these fancy aprons I threw together when I'm cooking in search of the next best cookie recipe (priorities).

For those of you who are crafty inclined the design is easy. Measure two squares (size varies, I just eyeballed it), cut them, sew together, add a pocket if you desire, and then I used fancy ribbons for the neck and tie arounds'. I also used a zig-zag stitch around the outside to keep it from fraying. These are the results:

Yes, on the last one I used an old beaded necklace for the top string that goes around the neck. I'm taking these by my consignment shops (Ume, Ogden Utah and Karma, Pleasant Grove, Ut), if they choose not carry them then they will be available in my Etsy shop for $15. Happy Easter.
