Anahata Butterfly

Anahata is the fourth primary chakra located just over the heart center and is often referred to as the fourth chakra or heart chakra. Anahata in sanskrit means unhurt, un-struck and unbeaten. The fourth chakra is associated with the color green and the element of air. I have combined this symbol with the Butterfly animal totem that concerns itself with transformation. At it's heart Butterfly is concerned with change, joy and love. Interesting how those three attributes seem to go together. Peace.

Great Spirit Tee

Great Spirit is With us All....I frequently have dreams about animals. One recurring animal that shows up for me is bear. Bear animal totem concerns itself with introspection. Understanding that all of the answers we look for lie within us if we are willing to quiet the mind and know. Bear signifies connection with Great Spirit. For me, connection with great spirit also includes a connection with all of the earth elements in a balanced way, which was the inspiration for this t-shirt. Of course, every one of my designs holds a deeper meaning that I can't convey to you here, and that meaning you must discover for yourself.

SLC 3rd Annual Spring Fashion Stroll 2010

The Spring Fashion Stroll was last night. Blue Road was there with Discrete Clothing. We had lots of fun and made a few sales despite the rain. Owl with Lotus Eyes Tee, original design. According to Native American animal totems owl is the messenger between the spirit world and our world. I originally had only planned on drawing the owl with lotus eyes, but ended up adding the Namaste message on the tree branch. Namaste is about honoring the light and divinity within each of us.

Great Spirit Tee, original design. I originally included a bear paw print with this design and then decided not to include it on the final print of the t-shirt. But it is interesting to know that bear totem shares the message that Great Spirit is with us all!

All You Need Is Love

Every year I avoid making New Years resolutions because I find that in the dead of winter my resolutions tend to be based on self-criticism rather than self-love. Then when I inevitably fail to follow through with my resolutions I end up feeling less than loving towards my self and others. This design is to help me remember that creation is always love based, whereas miscreation is always ego based. When we create from love, we connect with our Spirit, our Higher Self, and our Higher Power. When we connect with ego, we create from fear, self-criticism, jealousy, etc, and we force our miscreations on our self and others. So my intention for this next year is to remember that Love Is the Essence of Creation and if I'm not creating from Love, then I'm not creating anything sustaining or true.
